Crispy Fried Mushrooms with Cool Ranch Dip: The Addictive Snack You Didn’t Know You Needed

  1. Prep the mushrooms
    Slice larger mushrooms in half. Soak all mushrooms in buttermilk for 15 minutes (this helps the coating stick and adds moisture).

  2. Coat
    In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge the mushrooms in the dry mix until well coated.

  3. Fry
    Heat oil in a deep pan (170–180°C). Fry mushrooms in batches until golden and crispy (about 3–4 mins). Remove and place on paper towels.

  4. Mix the ranch
    Whisk all the dip ingredients in a bowl until creamy. Chill before serving for best flavor.

  5. Serve immediately
    Dip, crunch, repeat. Warning: they disappear fast!
