How to Repair a Burn Mark on a Wooden Floor

Use fine-grit sandpaper to gently sand the burn mark.
Gradually sand around the mark to blend the affected area with the surrounding floor.
Deep Burns:
Start with medium-grit sandpaper to remove the damaged wood.
Sand until the blackened area is no longer visible.
Step 3: Fill (If Needed)
If the burn has left a noticeable hole or deep groove:

Apply wood filler using a putty knife, ensuring it is flush with the floor.
Let the filler dry completely, as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Once dry, sand it smooth using fine-grit sandpaper.
Step 4: Apply Stain or Finish
Use a stained wood that matches the rest of your floor.
Apply the stain with a soft cloth or sponge, blending it carefully.
Allow the stain to dry thoroughly.
Step 5: Seal the area
To protect the repaired spot:

Apply a clear polyurethane or floor sealant.
Use a brush or applicator for even coverage.
Allow it to dry completely before walking on it.
Preventive Tips
Always use heat-resistant mats under hot appliances or objects.
Avoid placing heated items directly on wooden surfaces.
By following these steps, you can restore the look of your wooden floor and extend its lifespan. For severe damage, consider consulting a professional to ensure the repair blends seamlessly.
