I Found This Tiny Metal Pin in One of My Drawers… What Could It Be?

Honestly, the cheapest fix is to just keep spares. You can buy sim eject pins in cheap multipacks that come with more than you’ll ever lose, which is the point. Buy once, scatter them where you’ll actually find one.

Because the pins can fit most phones and tablets, one type almost covers your whole household. But just so you know SIM card remover pins are not strictly universal across all devices. I keep one in a wallet slot and another wedged in a phone case. That way the next swap doesn’t start with a drawer excavation.

The One Thing Worth Doing Now

If you do nothing else, tape a spare pin or a straightened paperclip flat inside your phone case. It sits there unnoticed until the day you need it. Then it’s already in your hand, and there’s no table-flipping, drawer-emptying scramble at all. Just a small strip of tape holding a bent paperclip against the back of your phone.
