my nana swore by this 1 trick to get rid of her sagging neck with almost 0 work

You know those old-school tricks that sound too simple to work… but actually do?

This is one of them.

I was visiting my nana one weekend — tea in one hand, a biscuit in the other — when I noticed something that made me stop mid-bite. Her neck. It was smooth, firm, and decades younger-looking than her age. No expensive treatments, no surgery, no fancy creams.

Naturally, I asked:
“Nana, what are you using?”

She leaned in and said, “Just one little trick. Learned it from my grandmother. Costs nothing. Takes five minutes a day.”

The Secret? The Spoon Lift.

At first, I laughed. But she was dead serious. Here’s what she did every single morning:

🥄 The Spoon Neck Lift Routine (Nana’s Way):

You’ll need:

  • 1 cold metal spoon (yes, from your kitchen drawer)
  • A few drops of oil (olive, coconut, or even your favorite facial oil)

Steps:

  1. Chill the spoon in the fridge for a few minutes — not frozen, just cool.
  2. Apply oil to your neck and jawline to reduce friction.
  3. Hold the spoon rounded side against your skin, and gently stroke upward from the base of your neck toward your jawline.
  4. Repeat each stroke 10 times per side, going slowly and using light pressure.
  5. Finish by lightly tapping under your chin with the back of the spoon.

That’s it.

She said, “Do it every day, like brushing your teeth. Over time, you’ll notice your skin gets tighter, circulation improves, and the muscles tone up naturally.”

Why It Works

This might sound too simple to believe, but there’s science behind it.

  • Lymphatic drainage: The spoon massage encourages fluid to move, reducing puffiness and bloating in the neck and jaw area.
  • Muscle stimulation: Just like facial yoga or gua sha, this activates the small muscles that often weaken with age.
  • Improved circulation: The cold spoon also helps tighten the skin and wake up sleepy blood vessels.

But the trick isn’t just physical. My nana believed that caring for yourself every day — even in small ways — sends a powerful message to your body:
“I value you. I want you to stay strong.”

Bonus: Her Neck Cream Cocktail

On weekends, she’d do a little extra. She called it her “neck cocktail”:

  • 1 tsp aloe vera gel
  • 2 drops vitamin E oil
  • ½ tsp honey
Mix and apply as a mask for 10–15 minutes, then rinse off. Skin = butter.

So… Did It Work for Me?

I committed. I used the spoon. I made her neck cocktail. And I swear, within 2 weeks, I could see a visible difference. My jawline looked sharper. The little loose patch under my chin? Smoother. More “awake.”

No surgery. No creams that cost a fortune. Just Nana’s humble, old-school hack.

Final Thoughts

We spend so much time chasing miracle products that we forget — sometimes the simplest tricks, passed down from those who lived without luxury, are the most powerful of all.

So if you’re tired of the sag, the turkey neck, or the early signs of aging, do what my nana did:

Grab a spoon. Oil up. And lift.

Your neck will thank you — and your friends will start asking what you did. 😉
