Lady glues 45 mini plastic eggs onto plain white styrofoam ball. This idea is taking over the internet!

The DIY Easter egg topiary is a creative and festive way to decorate your home for the spring season. This project has captivated the internet with its charm and simplicity, making it a popular choice for Easter celebrations. It’s a perfect activity for craft enthusiasts who enjoy adding a personal touch to their holiday decor. The combination of pastel colors and the speckled design of the mini eggs creates a delightful and inviting atmosphere, embodying the spirit of renewal and joy associated with Easter.
This DIY Easter egg topiary can be styled in various ways to complement your home decor. Place it as a centerpiece on your dining table for a festive touch, or use it to adorn a mantelpiece or entryway console. Pair it with other spring-themed decorations, such as fresh flowers or a pastel-colored table runner, to create a cohesive and inviting space. The soft pastel hues of the eggs will blend beautifully with neutral or bright color schemes, adding a pop of color without overwhelming the room.
DIY Easter Egg Topiary

Materials
1 plain white styrofoam ball (6-inch diameter)
45 pastel speckled mini plastic eggs
Hot glue gun with glue sticks
Wooden dowel (12 inches long)
Small flower pot or decorative base
Green moss or Easter grass
Directions
Heat your hot glue gun and prepare your materials.

Begin by adhering the mini plastic eggs to the Styrofoam ball, starting from the top and working your way down. Apply a small amount of hot glue to each egg and press it firmly onto the ball.

Continue gluing the eggs in a random pattern, ensuring that there are no large gaps between them. Rotate the ball as you work to maintain an even distribution of colors.

Once all 45 eggs are securely attached, insert the wooden dowel into the bottom of the Styrofoam ball to create a stem for your topiary.
Fill the flower pot or decorative base with green moss or Easter grass to conceal the dowel and provide stability.
Insert the dowel into the center of the pot, adjusting the height as needed. Ensure the topiary is stable and upright.
Variations & Tips
For a unique twist, consider using metallic or glittery eggs to add a touch of glamour to your topiary. You could also experiment with different base materials, such as a wooden crate or a ceramic vase, to match your home’s aesthetic. If you prefer a more rustic look, opt for a burlap-wrapped pot and natural raffia instead of moss. Another variation could involve using different sizes of eggs to create a more layered and textured appearance. Feel free to personalize your topiary by incorporating decorative ribbons or small spring-themed ornaments for added flair.
