Lady paints stainless steel bowls and then mounts them onto tree logs. I can’t believe how viral this went

Creating whimsical garden decor can transform a mundane backyard into a magical retreat. This DIY project involves painting stainless steel bowls and mounting them onto tree logs to resemble charming toadstools, perfect for adding an enchanting touch to your outdoor space. Whether you’re looking to add a playful element to your garden or simply enjoy a fun crafting activity, this project is a delightful way to bring creativity and color into your home landscape.
These DIY garden toadstools work beautifully in a variety of outdoor settings. Arrange them in clusters of varying heights for a natural look or place them strategically along a garden path to guide visitors with a touch of whimsy. They can also be scattered throughout a flowerbed, adding pops of color among the greenery. Consider pairing these toadstools with fairy lights or other garden ornaments to create a cohesive fantasy theme.
DIY Garden Toadstools

Materials
Stainless steel bowls (various sizes)
Red spray paint or outdoor paint
White acrylic paint or outdoor paint
Small paintbrush
Rustic tree logs (matching the diameter of bowl bases)
Strong waterproof adhesive or screws (appropriate for outdoor use)
Protective gloves
Sandpaper (optional, for smoothing log tops)
Directions
Clean the stainless steel bowls thoroughly to remove any labels or residues.

In a well-ventilated area, spray or paint the outside of each bowl with red paint. Apply multiple coats if necessary, allowing each coat to dry completely.

Once the red paint is dry, use a small paintbrush to add white dots to the surface of the bowls, mimicking the look of toadstools.

Prepare the tree logs by ensuring the tops are flat and stable. Sand the tops if necessary for a smooth surface.
Using a strong adhesive or screws, securely attach each painted bowl upside down on top of a tree log.
Allow the adhesive to cure fully before placing the toadstools in your garden.
Arrange the completed toadstools in desired locations throughout your garden.
Variations & Tips
To personalize your garden toadstools, consider experimenting with different colors. While traditional red and white are classic, you could use pastel shades or metallic finishes for a more modern twist. Additionally, you can vary the sizes of the bowls and logs to create a more dynamic display. For added durability, consider using a clear outdoor sealant over the paint to protect it from the elements. For a more natural look, you could also use ceramic bowls instead of stainless steel.
